    Great collection of Missouri military artifacts, from uniforms, medals, equipment, weapons and how they connect to local and state history. My 10 year old grandson loved the interactive build your own ironclad. Will certainly visit again!

    I particularly liked this place, as it was not mentioned anywhere in the must visit places in St. Louis and on other travel blogs on trip advisor.
    It is located in the downtown area, and provides an interesting perspective on the role of soldiers from St. Louis in the two world wars in particular, and also other wars USA has fought since then.
    One of my lasting memories from the memorial are the two statues on both sides of the entrance, two masculine characters and two feminine characters which signify loyalty, valor, wit and sacrifice. They also have a section on that inside the museum and I found that particularly beautiful.

    It is good to see that St. Louis has such a long history of honoring those who have served in her defense. If you visit, you should see not only the inside, but walk around the outside as well. The exterior commemorates those who fought in Europe during WWI, the battles that cost so many lives. Additionally please take time to strolled the adjacent parks as there are several memorials the to service organizations that started here in St. Louis. Lastly, but far from least are the statues dedicated to the gallant men & women of the Fire and Police departments who serve daily to protect us and our City.

    Amazing renovation by the Missouri Historical Society. This is a small space with smartly designed displays of St. Louis soldiers and their efforts on protecting our Republic. There are special exhibits in the basement,too!

    Outstanding improvement on this gorgeous memorial. The architecture is an amazing gem in the downtown region. And what a perfect way to memorialize our veterans. A must see for sure.
